With the new Google Sheets feature, you can now import the information you want into Master Metrics. This will allow you to create much more comprehensive and robust marketing reports, and therefore draw more informed conclusions.
Here are some ideas:
Import prospect information and its evolution into your CRM.
Import information on sales made in a physical store.
Invest in marketing campaigns carried out in public spaces to consider the total investment, not just the digital one, when calculating the return on investment.
With this information, you can:
Create pivot tables grouping the information as you wish and include them in your dashboards.
Create graphs to visualize this information along with information from your digital sources, all in the same report.
Create custom metrics by cross-referencing imported data with data from your digital sources. For example: Cost per Sale in a Physical Store.
How to import the information?
Start by clicking on the + button and selecting Google Sheets as the data source. Finish by clicking on the button to connect.
Next, you will need to select which account/email hosted on Gmail you will connect to Master Metrics.
Then, you must select the Allow button so that we can complete the integration.
This step allows Master Metrics to identify the Google Sheets files available in your Google account so that you can then select which ones you want to import.
Once you have granted Master Metrics access to your Google account, you will receive this notification.
Select the Google Sheets file you want.
Sample template
Specify which sheet in the file contains the table you want to import.
Important:
We recommend including names for each field (column) in the table so that you can identify them later, and also ensuring that they are in the first row of the table. Select the “Use first row as headers” option in this case.
Although Master Metrics automatically interprets the cells in which the table is located, we recommend selecting the “Include specific range” checkbox for greater control. In cases where the table size is variable, i.e., rows can continue to be added, we recommend including the dimensions at the column level. See how columns A, B, C, D, and E were selected in the example. In addition, a margin was left up to row 999 when the table only has 17 rows. This is so that data can continue to be added and Master Metrics can import it automatically.
When importing a sheet with more than one table, it is mandatory to indicate the position of the table you want to import.
You can import Google Sheets WITHOUT date fields. In this case, if you want to view the information in Master Metrics, in any of its sections (Overview, Dashboards, etc.), the software will total the information available in the table, without considering the time horizon selected when configuring the dashboard/widget/overview table.
As an example, we selected a file with the following information:
Once the file has been imported, you can edit the information included in the table. This is optional, but we recommend that you review the information.
Name: You can edit the name you use to identify each field by simply clicking on its name.
Entity:
-Dimension refers to the fields under which you want to group metric information. Examples of this type of field are campaign names, dates, demographic fields, etc.
-Metric refers to numeric fields.
Type: modify the field type and column format if desired. You can choose between:
-Text
-Date
-Option/Selection
-Numeric
-Currency
-Percentage
Aggregation: this only applies to entity fields of the metric type. This information is useful in cases where you want to view the table information grouped in a different way. In the example table uploaded, if you want to see the Amount spent information only by campaign (instead of by day and campaign), you have to tell Master Metrics how you want to group that information, i.e., whether we should sum/count/max/min/average the costs of each campaign.
Decimals: Select the number of decimal places to include.
Save the information.
That's it! You can now create dashboards, powertables, calculated metrics, and anything else you want, including information available in Google Sheets.
