How many times has a campaign failed and you only realized it four days later? Wasting valuable time and affecting performance.

You can avoid this by creating custom alerts for each advertising platform.

You will be alerted whenever:

  • The investment exceeds the budget.

  • The conversion rate is less than X%.

  • The CTR drops X% compared to the CTR of the previous period.

  • Sales are less than X dollars.

  • The account stops printing or is suspended.

  • And much more!

When creating an alert, there are four types: Budget Control, Goal Control, Customizable Alerts, and Suspended Advertising Account Alert.

Budget Control

You have to choose a data source, the advertising account, and enter the account's monthly budget. Optionally, you can choose to filter by campaigns to control the budget for a group of campaigns, or if you leave it blank, you will control the budget for the entire account:

The system will monitor spending every day at 9:00 a.m. (Argentina time, equivalent to GMT-3).

Let's assume that the monthly budget allocated is $1,000.

Today is the 16th day of a 31-day month, so 15 full days have passed, approximately 48.4% of the month (48.4% = 15/31). So far, $430 has been spent.

Based on this data, we can define different types of alerts to monitor spending behavior in relation to the budget. Below are three possible types of alerts, with specific examples:

1. Alert when spending reaches a certain percentage of the total budget

You can set up an alert to trigger when cumulative spending reaches, for example, 80% of the budget.

  • In this case, 80% of $1,000 equals $800.

  • Since $430 has been spent so far, that threshold has not yet been reached, so this alert does not trigger.

2. Alert if spending is significantly below expectations

You can also set up an alert to detect if spending is significantly higher than expected. For example, you could set an alert to trigger if spending is more than 5% above expectations.

5% of $484 (48.4%*$1,000 in the example, which should have been spent by the 15th) is $24.2.

So, if the actual spending on the 15th is greater than:

$484 + $24.2 = $508.2, it is considered to be over budget.

Since the actual spending is $515, this alert is triggered because spending is more than 5% higher than expected.

3. Alert if spending is significantly below expectations

An alert can also be set up to detect if spending is significantly lower than expected. For example, an alert could be set to trigger if spending is more than 10% below expectations.

  • 10% of $484 (which should have been spent by the 15th, as there are 15 full days) is $48.4.

  • So, if actual spending is less than $484 - $48.4 = $435.6, it is considered to be well below expectations.

  • Since actual spending is $430, this alert is triggered because spending is more than 10% below expectations.

Monthly Goal

This works very similarly to budget tracking, but instead of tracking spending, you choose a target metric and it alerts you if you are X% below the number of conversions for the target you entered based on the days that have passed.

For Example:

  • Monthly target: 200,000 impressions

  • Number of days in the month: 31 days

  • Current day: 11

  • Daily average required:

    200,000 ÷ 31 = 6,451 impressions per day

  • Expected cumulative impressions on day 10: 6,451 × 10 = 64,516 impressions

  • Configured tolerance: 15% = 15% of 64,516 = 9,677

  • The alert is triggered on day 11 if the cumulative impressions are less than: 64,516 - 9,677 = 54,839 impressions.

  • Actual impressions on day 11 (analyzes full days, so it takes up to day 10): 52,000

  • Since 52,000 < 54,839, you are more than 15% below the cumulative pace required on day 10.

Advertising Account Suspended

This alert notifies us if the account is suspended or has printing problems.

Beyond including the name, source, and advertising account, you can apply a filter if you want a specific campaign, or you can include all campaigns in the accounts if no filter is applied.

This Alert checks every hour to see how many impressions have been achieved by the selected account or campaign, and if there has been no change in the number of impressions in the following hour, it means that there was a problem with the account or campaign and it stopped printing.

You can also specify the day on which you want the Alert to check impressions, as in some cases the account or campaign does not run every day.

Customizable Alerts

Alerts can be created to monitor different metrics on different platforms. For example:

  • If this week's Meta CTR is below 2%, please notify me.

  • If this week's Meta CTR compared to the previous period fell by 20% from one period to the next, notify me.

You can also filter at the campaign, ad, or ad group level:

Finally, once this alert has been created, you can write the notification message you wish to receive:

Notifications

Once the Alert is set up, you can be notified in different ways:

  1. Receive alerts in your email: add as many email addresses as you want and you will be notified in your email account.

  2. Receive alerts on WhatsApp: you can add as many numbers as you want.

3. You can receive the Alert as a task in Click Up.

Once you have connected your ClickUp account, you will be able to create a task with information from the Alert in your workspace, and you will be able to customize the fields you want in ClickUp.

4.You can receive the alert on Monday.

First, you need to install the Monday app, then connect your account.

You can create an item on the board of your choice:

Or you can choose to update an item:

5.You can receive the Alert as a task in Asana:

Once you have connected your Asana account, you will be able to create a task with information from the Alert in your workspace, and you will be able to customize the fields you want in Asana.

6. You can receive the Alert in more than 5,000 applications using Zapier.

Once you have created an account on Zapier, you will need to create an account on Email Parser.

Remember that it is not necessary to have a paid Zapier plan.

Once you have created your account on Email Parser, you need to add a mailbox. This is where you will receive the Master Metrics Alert.

Enter a custom name in the “first slot” and copy and paste it into the “second slot”:
